Private Groups, School Camps & Corporate Team Building Tours
Private Rangitikei and Whanganui River trips are a perfect shared experience. Bring your team, students, family, or friends for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of New Zealand’s wilderness.
Adventures for Every Group
Planning a trip for a group with different interests? Whether it’s a corporate team building retreat, a family reunion, a North Island school camp, or a group of friends celebrating a milestone, our private Whanganui River tours bring people together for an unforgettable experience. We’ve hosted groups of all kinds—adventurous thrill-seekers, those looking for a relaxing escape, and even families spanning generations.
Our private canoe tours offer the perfect balance of adventure and tranquillity. Paddle through deep valleys shaped by time, tackle fun and bouncy rapids, and explore hidden canyons rich with history and cultural significance. At the end of the day, unwind with comfortable sleeping arrangements, quality camping gear, and delicious meals prepared by your guides. If you have specific interests or needs, we can customise the trip to suit your group, ensuring everyone has a rewarding and memorable journey.
Private Group: Pricing & Booking Conditions
Bringing a big group of eager adventurers? Reach out to discuss pricing and itineraries—we offer school discounts and special rates for larger groups and can tailor your Whanganui River experience to suit your needs. Whether it’s adding a guide, upgrading to huts, including a marae visit, or customising the menu, we’ll make it happen.
For private tours, minimum numbers and special booking conditions apply. If you have a smaller group but still want a private experience, we can arrange that too—just get in touch to discuss options and pricing.
Want to keep it flexible? While private tours are an incredible way to experience the river, many of our guests also love joining our regular guided trips, where solo travellers and smaller groups come together. Some of the best friendships have been made on our multi-day adventures. If you’re open to meeting like-minded people, check out our Guided Whanganui Tour options here.
Prepare for Your Group Canoe Trip
Coordinating a group trip can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. Let us know where you’re travelling from, and we can assist with transport advice to get everyone to our Ohakune base smoothly.
For a hassle-free start, we recommend staying at our onsite motel the night before departure—this works especially well for larger groups, giving everyone a chance to settle in and prepare together. If you’d like to extend your stay and explore more of Ohakune, we can suggest local activities or even book group reservations at our favourite Ohakune restaurants.
Once you’ve booked, we’ll send a detailed PDF with packing lists and key trip information to ensure your group is well-prepared.
Ready to plan your group’s next adventure? Get in touch today—we can’t wait to welcome you to the river!
